GT 1000 & 2000 Ambassadors
GT 1000/2000 Ambassadors make a lasting contribution to both the GT 1000/2000 Program and the Georgia Tech community. Ambassadors serve as a representative of the GT 1000/2000 program by working with fellow peers to effectively recruit a diverse pool of Team Leaders who will support the successful transition of first year and transfer students into Georgia Tech.
Ambassador Qualifications
To apply to be a GT 1000/2000 Ambassador, students must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of one semester serving as GT 1000 or 2000 Team Leader
- Minimum 2.5 overall GPA
- Good Standing with Instructor Performance Evaluation
- Strong time management skills
- Strong Organization skills
- Strong oral communication skills
- Enthusiastic demeanor and dedication to the mission of GT 1000 & GT 2000 Program
Ambassador Duties
All students serving as GT 1000/2000 Ambassadors must:
- Must be able to serve a minimum of two consecutive semesters (Fall-Spring)
- Serve as mentors and advisors for a designated group of current GT 1000/2000 TLs
- Serve as a GT 1000 or 2000 Team Leader if time permits
- Attend general ambassador meetings (2 per month)
- Meeting time will be set at the first Ambassador Meeting each semester
- Attend committee meetings (2 per month)
- Date/Time to be determined by committee members
- Develop programs and workshops for your committee’s area of focus
- Aid in the continuous development of al GT 1000/2000 Team Leaders
- Hold Office Hours once a week for Team Leader Mentees
- Perform two GT 1000 or 2000 class visits (Fall only)
- Attend GT 1000 Ambassador Retreat (September; date TBD)
- Attend, participate in, and assist in coordination of:
- Team Leader Appreciation Banquet (November)
- Team Leader Recruitment Events (November/January)
- Team Leader Application Review (February)
- Team Leader Interviews (February)
- Team Leader Welcome Event (March)
- Team Leader Training & Orientation (April)
